Genesis Connect aims to promote the latest cobalt-free GivEnergy Battery Energy Storage Solution throughout the UK and EU.
Task: (1) Design a brochure, 12-pages A4 with a flap on the back cover to hold tech sheets, and (2) create print-ready artwork and possibly downloadable/email-able PDF.
Requirements: The brochure’s content and structure will be based on the Word and Excel documents provided. The look and feel of the design use the Connect Energy website (TBC) as a reference point to align both brand touchpoints. To achieve this, we ideally use the same typefaces: Work Sans and Proxima. Richard Bullock supplied a link to the product imagery. Additionally, we might source high-resolution pictures from rights-free image banks.
Proposal: Typically, the price for a project like this would be around the £ 2500 mark. My estimated price for a Go Deeper solution is £ 1940 and for the Ready-to-Go option £ 1470. All prices exclude VAT.
Moreover, as you are well prepared and seem decisive, I’d be happy to offer you a swift-turnaround discount of 15% if we can complete the project within two weeks, i.e. from kick-off call to sign-off of the print-ready artwork.

Design and artwork
Option 1 — ‘Go Deeper’
This approach goes deeper and presents the commercial offer compellingly.
- Clarify the needs of commercial customers and GivEnergy’s value proposition
- Refined a page plan based on the value proposition
- Developing two design routes for a strong opening to deliver an excellent first impression
- Proposing two design directions for the cover and two spreads to establish design direction
- Designing the page layouts based on the agreed design direction and refined pageplan
- Tweaking the layouts, i.e. two rounds of revisions of design and content (NB: client proof-reads!)
- Creating artwork PDFs for print and online/email use
Brand messaging, layout design, project management and prepress artwork £ 1940
Option 2 — ‘Ready-to-Go’
The result is a considered and crafted design based on the given information.
- Proposing two design directions for the cover and one spread to establish the design direction
- Designing the page layouts based on the agreed direction and given structure
- Tweaking the layouts, i.e. one round of revisions of design and content (NB: client proof-reads!)
- Creating prepress artwork PDF
Layout design, project management and prepress artwork £ 1470

Successful Collaboration
For successful execution of the project, open and trusting cooperation is crucial and required. That also means that all shared information and developed results are treated confidentially. Due to our close and regular collaboration, it is only necessary to document the essentials and not to create any further reporting. Any postponements or additional work will only take place after consultation.
If you have questions, please get in touch with me. Should you be clear about which option you prefer, let me know, and I'll send you a formal estimate.

“Stephan Hammes is all about clarity. To that, he adds a superb depth of perception. The two years we’ve worked together have been both a pleasure and an education. His thoughtful deconstruction of our ideas led us to an atomistic understanding of our offer, from which he built our brand. Through that, he shaped the company, represented by the striking and beautiful design he is known for. Always calm, always on the money, always on the company’s side by thinking on the customer’s side. You may think you know your company now, but the design confidence and message precision you’ll get from Stephan’s work is of a significantly higher order.” — Bill Brannigan, Entrepreneur
